Meet the Founders – Dale and Carrie Carson
I am a native Texan having lived in the North Texas area my entire life. I was born in Dallas and grew up in Lake Dallas. After working in the electrical field for many years, I was hired by the City of Denton and I am currently employed with the Facilities Department. In 2007, I joined the Army (National Guard) at the age of 34. After completing Basic Training, I began training for a deployment to Iraq. I served in Iraq from November 2008 and returned home in August 2009. After returning home from Iraq, I was able to graduate from Airborne school in Fort Benning, GA. I also served a year on the Texas Mexico border guarding against the infiltration of drugs. Through all of my military service, I became more and more interested in weapons and weapon training. My interest in weapons is what began the business of Liberty Firearms.
I was actually born in Iowa, but moved to Texas when I was 21. I have lived in the North Texas area ever since. In 1993, I graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a degree in History. After working at CoServ for several years, I started my teaching career. I stayed in the classroom for 10 years. Currently I work as a Administrative Assistant for Denton Municipal Electric.
In 1994, we were married. In 1998, we purchased a home in Denton. We both call Denton home – it’s the place where we work, where we serve and worship, and where we have a strong community of family and friends that has planted us here for the past, present, and future.
